I gave up trying to enforce Puff to stay off the counters after awhile. It got a little better when I threw his sweet grass out. Using a water bottle DOES NOT stop him. He just looks at you with an evil grin like yeah right.
Do you allow yours up on the counters? If not what do you do to stop them?

We don't allow Reeses on the counters, but we can't do anything to stop her. Just like you tried, the spray bottle was useless. It got to the point where she'd see it before we sprayed and ran.
Well, actually I should say we KIND OF allow her on the counter. When we have the window over the sink open she likes to lay in it, just like very other window in the house. We're fine with that. But if she's up there messing around in the sinking or drinking from the faucet, we usually just catch her in the act and get her down for the time being.

Yep I've done all that. Except he gets at the very top where I can't get him down. And I kept the window over the counter open because his sweet grass was up there. It needed sunlight and that's the only place to keep it.
Here's what I'm talking about. This is above my cabinets in the kitchen. When he gets up there I cant get him down. So he stays up there till he's good and ready to come down on his own.

I let PHX go where he wants. I don't try stopping him! The only thing I don't like is if he's on the counter when I'm eating there. But we don't really have this problem very often because he HATES human food! So, to answer the question, yes I let my cat on the counter.

LOL. Sorry. I CAN laugh though because both of mine do the same thing! They jump on the cupboard, then the fridge and then the top of the cabinet. They'll walk around to the other side and plop. Chevy learned it from Summer. I took Summer to visit my friend like two years ago who lives in this building...and she did the SAME thing at her place. My friend loves cats and got a kick out of it! I need to get pics of it!
